finally, I pet a kitten

New Sylvie game woo~~~

This one is hard for me so far >.< I am still on the tutorial and just can’t figure out the trick, but I’m not giving up yet!

By tutorial I apparently mean field 5.

Had to look at hints ;.; Turns out momentum important.

Finally found the beginning of the game. Wow, this is really really hard. I have it on slow mo 20 FPS and it is still grueling. I will figure it out eventually, but it is very unusual for something to be this challenging, and that is cool. Have not completed any spaces besides the starting 13, but I know how to complete one I just need to be allowed to press ‘S’ (it’s not a real level though). Currently stuck on a green grassy level where everything is ungrabbable impassable spikes and you gotta (I am guessing) hover over these green passable spikes for a billion years even though the gap to the grabbable grass is like really big and stuff and every time you mess up you have to redo 3 very tight jump/teleport chains.

Gave up and became a wizard. Met some cool people and learned to make quicksaves. The game will be so much less difficult now, but it will still be fun and it will be less annoying so that’s probably good. I hope hovering can’t be solved just by focusing, if so uh… I am a dummy XD

Glad to see you fall while focusing. I was wrong about how to beat the jungle level but it was still way easier with the quicksave spell. I spent ages wandering the void after getting out leftwards from field 10, eventually finding out that you also know the best pangram, but losing all voidwalking progress because Aria’s trick only works if the bottom isn’t grabbable (unless there’s some way to do it on sides, but if so I couldn’t get it to work). Still very cool and expansive; I always like it when your games turn out to be a lot bigger than you first think.

about 5 hours to get true ending w/ somewhat generous hint taking for cheese because i am not a platforming expert. what a ride. finally understanding the structure of the world and how to navigate it efficiently felt magical.

Could I ask for a hint for field 7?

The information you learned in the previous field is important. If you were confused and didn't fully understand it, you may want to read it again. Then use this information to try to get to the right side of the screen.

I also added a video to the hints page (if you expand the first hint in General Hints).

Thank you! I love your games.

stuck... i cant understand how to next a jump from a floorspin...

- ahh now i get it, you have to let go. i would'e thought that would next a spin rather than the jump.

so fun I played it for 3 hours straight. almost ragequitted at field 5 but persevered after coming up with a plan that seemed like it would work if I could just train my fingers to do it. not sure if there is more to it but I have my speedrun of 13 stars down to ~2m10s. still lots of room for improvement. I haven't found any kittens :(

I liked all the cool things you could do with Nexting. it felt really good to Next a Jump out of a Grab. I had to think about it a lot before but now I can do it without thinking too hard. maybe I can only do it if I don't think too hard. whoops

I really appreciated how you broke it down into steps and let me think though how everything fit together. the pieces are pretty simple but the stuff you can do with it feels surprising. I was like "whoa, you think I can get there? ok..."

all the games I can think of that do input buffering/coyote time have some kind of arbitrary timer on it so I think it is really cool that this game doesn't have random hidden timers like that, it's all on the table and feels very fair if that makes sense. it's very refreshing

this game makes me excited to explore Nexting in my own games :)

i'm stuck at field 5 and ready to ragequit but your comment is infusing me with determination. I am playing at the slowest speed and testing out everything i can think of. I'm loving this game so far

EDIT: I DID IT!!! FIELD 6 LETS GO
